چکیده

Antimicrobial resistance is a rising threat in the agrifood sector. The misuse of antibiotics exerts selective pressure, driving mechanisms bacteria, which could ultimately spread through many routes and render treatments for infectious diseases inefficient humans animals. Herein, we report antimicrobial susceptibility data obtained six lactic acid members are commonly used food feed chain. Fifteen antimicrobials were considered phenotypic testing: ampicillin, gentamicin, kanamycin, tetracycline, erythromycin, clindamycin, chloramphenicol, streptomycin, vancomycin, quinupristin-dalfopristin, bacitracin, sulfamethoxazole, ciprofloxacin, linezolid, rifampicin. reported dataset be comparison, generation, reconsideration new and/or existing cut-off values when considering particularly lactobacilli pediococci.

Susceptibility of Clostridium perfringens to antimicrobials produced by lactic acid bacteria: Reuterin and nisin

The effectiveness as antimicrobials of lactic acid bacteria produced compounds reuterin and nisin was assessed against vegetative cells and spores of Clostridium perfringens isolates (from ovine milk obtained in farms with diarrheic lambs) and C. perfringens CECT 486 (type A toxin producer). We also tested the inhibitory effect of lysozyme and sodium nitrite on Clostridium. Minimal inhibitory c...

Antimicrobial microbes-bacteriocin producing lactic acid bacteria

The contribution of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) to the improvement of food safety and stability of fermented foods has long been known. LAB overgrow other microorganisms of the same ecological niche in food products mainly due to lowering the pH, competing for nutrients, producing various antimicrobial substances such as organic acids, hydrogen peroxide, antibiotics and bacteriocins. Among these...

Phenyllactic Acid: A Potential Antimicrobial Compound in Lactic acid Bacteria

3-Phenyllactic acid (PhLA) is a broad spectrum antimicrobial compound active against bacteria and fungi. PhLA exists in two chiral isomers, L-PhLA and D-PhLA which show antimicrobial activity. D-PhLA shows more antimicrobial activity than L-PhLA and hence it is receiving great attention as food and feed additive in place antibiotics which control the microbial contamination and thereby increase...
